Online Employment Referencing
Did you know? Gathering references is easy and straightforward with PASS
PASS is used by our clients to speed up their background checking processes. In fact, the efficiencies PASS drives increase the more checks and types of checks done through it.
This includes gathering references for candidates, a capability that some clients don’t currently make use of. With this in mind, we thought it would be helpful to talk through how PASS can help gather references and prompt referees.
How does it work?
Online Referencing (OLR) is a feature which allows employment referees to complete and confirm candidate’s employment details and history online through a portal. Users can ‘chase’ candidate employment references from within the system and, when completed, the references are automatically fed back to PASS. The employment reference is then updated automatically without the need for a manual action.
During candidate screening, users can prompt the referee from PASS using pre-configured (or tailored) email templates. The referee then receives an invitation email to complete the reference in the portal and once this is completed the data is transferred back to PASS.
Why gather references through PASS?
Traditionally, screeners need to review returned documents from employment referees, and update the dates they have on file. When using PASS this often means manually updating the dates in the system.
The OLR process simplifies the employment reference process, speeding up screening time and cutting down administrative tasks.
What’s more, it improves the experience for every party involved; the candidate, the screener and the referee. It is all in one place, easily accessible and quicker.
